2017 year end financial update

January 31, 2018

Dear LSQ Family,

We want to thank you for your generosity to Redeemer Lincoln Square in 2017. We are so grateful for how God has used your prayers, service and financial gifts to accomplish his vision for New York City in 2017.

In 2016 we began raising awareness about our desire to plant a congregation. We hosted vision nights and prayer events and those produced volunteer prayer, service and communication teams which helped us begin building a community. Through funds from the Rise Campaign, we were able to launch on Easter Sunday 2017, and in the first 9 months our church community has grown quickly. Here are some highlights of what’s happened since we launched LSQ:

New people:

  • We launched services in April with 13 community groups. Today, we have more than doubled that number with 32 groups meeting weekly!
  • Over 50% of the Lincoln Square congregants in our database were not previously involved in the Redeemer network or community.

New areas of service:

  • We have over 250 people actively serving on a Sunday Service Team, through our Community Group system, and on other service teams. With around 600 people attending on Sundays each week, this makes up over 40% of our weekly attendance.
  • We’ve activated, encouraged and empowered congregants to serve in the unique ways they’ve been called which has led to the start of initiatives like brunch bunches, book clubs, social groups, and diversity dinners.

Financial update:

  • Your contributions of $1.7M in 2017 have allowed us to meet our 2017 giving goal and still have funds to help us scale for new staff and programming in 2018.

Thank you for your continued prayers and support of our new congregation. We wouldn’t be here without God’s provision through your generosity and we’re extremely grateful for all that he is accomplishing through you. If you have not already received it, please login to your Redeemer account to check your 2017 giving statement.

In Him,

Michael Keller
Pastor, Redeemer Lincoln Square
